Cluster Dextrin™ is a highly branched cyclic dextrin made from corn starch. It is a complex carbohydrate source with a high molecular mass. According to the manufacturer, Cluster Dextrin™ has a lower glycaemic index than conventional maltodextrin.

The product provides a total of 25 g carbohydrates with one serving of 24 g. Carbohydrates serve as a source of energy for the body and play an important role, particularly during longer and intensive physical exertion.

Carbohydrates also contribute to the restoration of normal muscle function (contraction) after highly intensive and/or prolonged physical activity that has led to muscle fatigue and the depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle.

Important: This beneficial effect is achieved with a total carbohydrate intake of 4 g per kg body weight. The carbohydrates must be consumed in multiple portions within the first 4 hours, but no later than within 6 hours after the corresponding physical exertion.

After training, Cyclic Dextrin can also be combined with a protein powder. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. This allows carbohydrates and protein to be conveniently consumed together in one shake.

Preparation & recommended intake

1 serving (25 g = 3 gheaped measuring scoop) mix in a shaker with 300–400 ml water or any other liquid.

On training days, the manufacturer recommends one serving after intensive training within 4 hours or during prolonged training sessions while exercising.
