Why lactase is important
Lactase is the enzyme that breaks down lactose in the small intestine.
If this enzyme is absent or produced only in small amounts, lactose cannot be fully digested. This can result in unpleasant symptoms such as:
-
Bloating
-
Abdominal pain
-
Feeling of fullness
-
Diarrhea
may occur.
Lactase improves lactose digestion in people who have difficulty digesting lactose.*

Dosage & enzyme activity
1 capsule contains:
-
5000 FCC units of lactase
(50 mg enzyme preparation)
In general, approximately 2500 FCC units are required to digest 10–13 g lactose.
One capsule is usually sufficient for approx. 20 g lactose
(e.g. approximately 400 ml whole milk).
For very sensitive individuals, up to 10.000 FCC units per meal may be appropriate – equivalent to 2 capsules.
Ideally suited for
? People with lactose intolerance

? Casein or milk protein shakes
? People who do not want to avoid dairy products completely
